This time I'm the healthy one, and the guys are sick. Poor Andrew has had diarrhea and a wicked diaper rash for almost a week now, and Jim is starting to get sick with a sinus thing. It could end up being anything from allergies to the flu; it's too soon to tell. Being the only healthy one is hard work, although it still beats being sick. Unfortunately, this illness is probably going to change some upcoming plans we were really looking forward to:-(
Anyway, just wanted to share why I'm not blogging much. Andrew's illness keeps me pretty-much tied to the house, so there isn't much to share. I'm going stir-crazy, and the hourly gross diapers aren't helping, nor is the frequent wake ups during the night. Every time I have to change his diaper at night, I have to turn on the light and he screams like I'm tearing off a limb from the raw skin. Poor baby! It takes 30 minutes to calm him down and, of course, I'm then wide awake, which kicks in my insomnia for another 30-60 minutes. Not fun! Hopefully Andrew will get better very soon. If he's not better by Saturday, I have to take him in to the doctor, so please pray that he gets better very soon.
Thawing out and warming up...

teething? It's time for those one year molars! Both my boys get TERRIBLE diahrea and diaper rash when they're teething molars or 2+ teeth at a time. It can last days.
Whenever this hits I move to disposables until it passes, unfortunately, they do the best at keeping teething rash away. You may also notice tons of congestion and even a fever if he's cutting molars or more than one. Try a piece of whole wheat toast with maybe a little butter for flavor to help both his gums and diahrea. And of course a banana or cold applesauce always helps. Sorry everyone's been sick!
Yeah, based on the drool, I'd say he's teething his molars. I keep checking, but there's no sign they're coming through, so this could take quite awhile. I've been giving him bananas, applesauce, rice cereal, yogurt, and cheerios as much as possible. At least his rash seems to be getting better.
Hi, I have followed your blog for awhile now. I am just here to remind you that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as a survivor, I am just going to all the blogs that I read to remind you to do your self breast exams. Have a great blessed day and DONT FORGET TO CHECK YOUR BREAST! Visit my blog for a Breast Cancer giveaway.
yeah, molars are the worst. Elijah's took over a month to come through and right as they were poking out we had about 4 days where he would randomly start screaming as if he was being tortured, in particular in the middle of the night. I of course would run in panicked and nothing would console him...it was horrible. After a few min of the screaming he'd fall asleep exhausted and the next day the tooth would be through. We love Humphrey's teething pellets. We found them at Walgreens and Elijah begs for them when he's in pain.
Do you still use cloth diapers through the diarrhea? I've not used a disposable since Griffin was 10 days old but I bet I would run to the store for disposables if he had sick kid diarrhea and a rash!
You bet, Stella. We went through almost a whole box of luvs. Thank goodness he's healthy now!
